Historic Opportunity in India
World Help has an incredible opportunity in India. One of my long-time friends and World Help partners Georgey Varghese directs an amazing ministry in India that trains church planters and plants churches.   And now Georgey has been chosen to direct the historic Calcutta Bible College. When William Carey, known as the “father of modern missions,” traveled to India in 1793, one of his first endeavors was to establish a church. He accomplished that and now 202 years later, historic Carey Baptist Church still stands and flourishes. Calcutta...

Trapped in a Nightmare
Only a few miles away from the city center of Nairobi, Kenya, lies a desolate wasteland of muck, raw sewage, shacks, and hundreds of thousands of people crammed together in utter despair. It’s known as the Kibera Slum. And it is the worst place that I have ever visited . . . Ever! Nothing could have prepared my heart for what I and our team saw. As we entered the slum, we drove past huge mountains of burning, rotting garbage where Kenyans foraged for food and anything useable. Raw sewage ran down narrow, muddy roads lined with shacks...

We Didn’t Know We Had Water Under Our Feet
Wow . . . What an incredible day in Rwanda! Our team just dedicated a new clean water well that was a direct result of the First Annual causelife Golf Tournament. And this is an impressive well. Solar panels stand 20 feet high and pump the deep bore well so that it runs clean water uphill throughout the village. One thing Africa has a lot of is sunshine, and I love the fact that we could use the natural resources of the country to provide these Rwandans with life! The golf tournament was such a success and my hat’s off to Kevin Foster...

The Difference One Person Can Make
Today, we boarded a small charter plane and headed to Northern Uganda and the rural city of Gulu. You may not recognize the name, “Gulu,” but I know you’ve heard about the thousands of children that were kidnapped and forced to become child soldiers and fight in the rebel army. Boys and girls as young as six and seven years of age were given guns and told to kill. Young girls were raped, used as sex slaves, and many became child mothers. World Help has been working in Gulu for over seven years. But three years ago, I brought a dear...

Back in Africa
After 40 hours of traveling, one missed flight, and an unexpected day in freezing Amsterdam, our World Help team arrived in Kampala, Uganda. And we hit the ground running! Our first stop was Destiny Villages of Hope, where more than 1,400 HIV/AIDS orphans have found a new home and new hope. Traveling with me are World Help board members, Skip Taylor and Tony Foglio, World Help staff Tom Thompson, Cyrus Mad-Bondo, and Daniel Bowden, along with two great friends and supporters, Dr. Tim Rand and Sandy Sansing. At Destiny, we dedicated a new...
