Before the Door Shuts: Urgent Need in North Korea

North Korea’s infamous leader, Kim Jong-Il, passed away on December 17.
Kim’s youngest son, Kim Jong-un, is preparing to assume power over the Communist regime and is virtually unknown to the international community. Many speculate that his inexperience will make him vulnerable to power struggles within the already fragile and unpredictable government.
This marks the beginning of an extremely critical time of transition for North Korea’s leadership, government, and country as a whole. North Korean believers fear for their lives and that all open doors to the outside world will soon be completely closed.
A time is approaching when it may be impossible to distribute New Testaments in North Korea. We must respond quickly and strategically to aid our brothers and sisters before it’s too late!
World Help has been working in North Korea for years through an intricate network of New Testament distribution and church planting programs. I was there recently and was able to see the incredible dedication of these Korean Christ followers.
Nowhere in the world is persecution of believers more severe than in North Korea. Tens of thousands of believers are in prison for their faith, suffering unbelievable beatings, interrogations, and threats. Many of these prisoners are World Help partners.
I believe the Word of God is the only hope for North Korea, especially now. Korean believers are ready to place New Testaments into the hands of people who are living without hope—people living in one of the most oppressive countries on earth. These brave men and women are willing to give their lives for this purpose, risking everything for the sake of Christ.
Today, I’m asking you to help me provide as many New Testaments as possible to North Korea before Christmas. I know this request comes at a time of year when finances are tight, and there are plenty of other occasions to give.
Please understand that this is a matter of unprecedented urgency and opportunity. Just think . . . We have the ability to send the one resource on earth that has the power to change people, governments, and even an entire nation.
Don’t miss this chance to equip North Korean believers with the encouragement they will surely need in the uncertain days to come.
Five dollars is all it takes to print and distribute one Korean New Testament. Will you make it your goal to send as many copies of God’s Word as you possibly can this Christmas?
Thank you for helping me do something that will outlive us and last for eternity. For the sake of our brothers and sisters in North Korea, please act today.
